In November 2010, Johnson Matthey expanded its production capabilities by acquiring Riverside, a dedicated API manufacturing facility in Conshohocken, PA. Located in the heart of the US pharmaceutical hub, Riverside is a scalable, flexible, multi-purpose production facility with highly automated, DCS recipe driven operations.
Additional features include a 5,600m² production area, a 2,900m² warehouse, total reactor capacity of 37K gallons, and cost effective waste management that includes advanced wastewater treatment, liquid hazardous waste incineration, and solvent recovery.
Johnson Matthey Chief Executive Neil Carson stated "the facility, which is located near our existing operations in West Deptford, New Jersey, will give us greater flexibility and will provide additional capacity at low cost. The acquisition will enable us to service our growing share of the North American API market."
The Riverside facility is situated just outside Philiadelphia and within 1/2 hour of Philadelphia International Airport.
